The last steps of setting up our guitars included installing the bridge and strings, cutting them to length and setting the proper heights of the strings by filing down the bone nut slots. We then put string trees on the first-fourth strings to create break angle coming off the nut to prevent string buzz. The last step was tuning and intonation, making the open and closed twelfth fret the same note. One lesson I really enjoyed from this class was learning about the circuits and electronics in a guitar. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the class and the people I experienced it with.
Week 23
This week I completed building my guitar and I started learning how to play.
Week 22
This week I attached my neck to my body and strung up my guitar. I learned that guitar strings put hundreds of pounds of pressure on the neck.
Week 21
This week I finished polishing my body using car polish. I also installed my bridge and pickups. I learned that in order to test the pickups with a tuning machine, you must first sauder your electronics together.
Week 20
This week I polished my headstock and installed my tuning machines. Using a drill and a 10mm T socket, I secured my tuning machines parallel to the edge of the headstock. I learned that the tuning machines, with strings in them, create an enormous amount of potential kinetic energy, held back by a little screw through the back of the machine.
Week 19

This week I continued spraying clear coat on my body and neck. We learned that the gun only works if an air hole on the paint cup is cleared.
Week 18
This week we started spraying clear coat on our necks and bodies. I learned that the paint gun uses compressed air to change the shape of the clear coat when you spray it.
Week 16
This week I took apart and cleaned the paint gun we’re going to use to shoot clear coat on our guitars. I learned how a paint gun works and how they are assembled.
Week 15
I was absent this week, I didn’t get to make any progress in building my guitar.
Week 14
This week I completed all painting on my guitar. Using 2 cans of a matte grey spray paint, I put multiple coats on both my guitar body and headstock. I learned that clear coat will fill in and sand out any imperfections/scratches on my paint job.
