Week 3

This week we had a demo on gluing the fingerboard to the neck of our guitars. I learned that you should always use original wood glue, not wood glue 1 or 2 because they don’t work as well. I also learned how to center your inlays using a forstner bit and a ruler.

Week 1

Pictures of my rough head stock design and whole neck. Used a band saw to cut out the head and belt sander to smooth the cuts. I learned that the strings of a guitar put around 100 plus pounds of tension on the neck of a guitar. To counter that tension, a truss rod is placed inside the neck and “bends” the neck in the opposite direction.
